WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In their first head-to-head debate, Sen. John McCain criticized Sen. Barack Obama as a candidate who "doesn't understand" the key issues the country faces, and Obama linked McCain to President Bush on several issues.
"I'm afraid Sen. Obama doesn't understand the difference between a tactic and a strategy," McCain said Friday as the two traded jabs over Iraq.
Obama shot back, "I absolutely understand the difference between tactics and strategy. And the strategic question that the president has to ask is not whether or not we are employing a particular approach in the country once we have made the decision to be there."
McCain drew from his experience overseas as he tried to portray himself as the more qualified candidate.
"Incredibly, incredibly Sen. Obama didn't go to Iraq for 900 days and never asked for a meeting with Gen. [David] Petraeus," he said.
- this is just an introduction to the entire article. you should go to the html and read the entire thing and see how these two go back and fourth attacking eachother time and time again. It doesnt really seem to be a debate, but sort of a hostile argument of two men competing for the presidency, trying to bash one another and make eachother look bad. I watched part of this debate and frankly, i think John McCain looked pretty stupid trying to insult the intelligence of Obama. For every thing McCain said to attack and critize Obama, Obama responded with making point after point and actually explaining what he can do for the country and the plans he has for the relavent issues at hand, rather than McCain trying to make himself look more qualified just because he is old.

New York Attorney General Caught in Sex Scandal

Eliot L. Spitzer, Ex New York Attorney General and Governor, was involved in a prostitution ring, forcing him to resign from his positions. He was a firm supporter of ethics in the business world, until he was caught buying late-night call girls on a business phone.
He received a call from his office from “Client 9” and told Spitzer he has a girl traveling from New York to Washington. There, he had a hotel room reserved and waiting for the governor.
People are rarely charged when it comes to these sorts of matters, however, there was a Mann Act established in 1910, which declared prostitution and acts of that nature to be immoral if they cross state borders for that purpose.
His wife, Silda, was standing next to him when he resigned due to “private family matters” in front of the press. He did not answer any questions.
He was also the leader of the organized crime force and had prosecuted two other instances of prostitution rings prior to his situation. Aside from his scandal, he was a part of the effort to reestablish the financial market by forcing companies he considered a threat through billion dollars worth of fines. Most of the companies just begged for a deal or found a way to work it out. One company in particular, Bank of America, was being fined due to the companies stockbroker, Sihpol was charged with hedging funds after work hours, which Spitzer considered to be unethical. Others are fighting back as well, claiming he wrongfully charging them with things they believe is not unethical.

Schering-Plough to cut 1,000 sales jobs

NEW YORK (AP) -- Schering-Plough Corp. says it will cut 1,000 sales jobs as part of broader cuts in a move to reduce costs and reposition itself in an ever-changing industry.
The company says it will cut 1,000 U.S. sales force jobs, leaving 4,000 positions. The layoffs come on top of a 10% reduction in staff announced in April. In all, the company hopes cost cuts and layoffs since the company bought biotechnology company Organon Biosciences in November will save it $1.5 billion annually.
-In response to this news article, I can say that Schering-Plough Corp. is not being morally ethical in their decision to cut 1000 sales jobs to reduce costs and save tons of money. What is good for the company is not always morally ethical. This decision is completely legal but ovbiously morally wrong. This company is unconcerned with what is morally ethical(right/wrong), and only cares about profit cutting costs.
